Bihar STET 2026 Exam Schedule and Shift Timings

The exam runs over several weeks from October 25 to November 20, 2026 so your allotted date depends on your subject and paper. The reported shift structure is

Dummy Admit Card vs Final Admit Card

Before the final admit card BSEB issued first and second dummy admit cards between September 25 and October 7, 2026. The purpose of a dummy admit card is to let candidates check their details and request corrections before the final hall ticket is generated.

If you corrected your details during that stage re-check the final admit card to confirm the changes were applied. If you did not look at the dummy admit card the final admit card is now your key document so check it carefully today.

Understanding the Bihar STET: Why It Matters

STET is an eligibility test not a recruitment exam. Here is what that means

Qualifying STET makes you eligible to apply for teaching posts at the secondary Classes 9 and 10 and senior secondary Classes 11 and 12 levels in Bihar as recruitment is announced.
It does not guarantee a job. Selection depends on separate recruitment processes and their criteria.
The papers are subject-specific so your chosen subject carries most of the marks 100 out of 150.
The Teaching Art and Other Competencies section 50 marks tests teaching aptitude and related skills.

Qualifying marks and certificate validity are set by the board’s notification so check the official documents for the figures applicable to your category.

Preparation Tips for the Final Days

Take full-length mock tests in CBT mode 150 questions in 150 minutes means about one minute per question.
Divide your time: many candidates attempt the 100-mark subject section first then the 50-mark teaching and competencies section.
Attempt every question. With no negative marking leaving a question blank gains nothing.
Revise by topic not by chapter order focusing on weak areas flagged in mock tests.
Practise navigating the CBT interface including marking for review and switching between questions.
Keep general teaching concepts fresh child development pedagogy classroom management and assessment.

What Is Not Yet Confirmed

To keep expectations realistic here is what the reports reviewed did not clearly confirm

Qualifying marks for each category General, EBC/BC, SC/ST, PwD and others. Check the official notification for the cut offs applicable to you.
The correction procedure for errors found after the final admit card. A helpdesk link is mentioned but a formal correction window has not been described.
Paper-wise date allotment. The overall window is October 25 to November 20 but which subject writes on which day is shown only on individual admit cards.
Answer key and result dates. None have been announced yet. Treat any date circulating on social media as unverified until BSEB publishes it.
A small source discrepancy. One report mentions an 18 September release date which appears to be a typo for October 18 since the dummy admit cards were still being issued until October 7.

Quick Candidate Checklist Before the Exam

Task	When to Do It
Download and print the admit card two copies	Today or tomorrow
Cross check name, photo, subject, date, shift and centre	Immediately after download
Raise any error with the helpdesk	As early as possible
Locate the exam centre and plan the route	At least 2 to 3 days before
Keep original photo ID with the admit card	The night before
Revise key points and sleep well	The night before
Leave home with a time buffer	Exam morning

Candidates who live far from their allotted centre should consider booking travel and a place to stay early since the exam is spread across nearly four weeks and travel demand can rise around popular dates.
