What Is the RRB JE City Intimation Slip?
The city intimation slip is an advance notice. It is not an entry pass. It tells you the city and date your exam is allotted to usually well before the full call letter appears. For CBT 2 the slip arrived roughly ten days before exam day so that candidates could organise travel and accommodation.
Think of it as a travel advisory. The admit card is the boarding pass.
The slip matters for three practical reasons
- Travel booking: Railway tickets to larger exam cities sell out quickly so early notice means better fares and confirmed seats.
- Accommodation: If your city is far from home you can book a stay near the centre zone before prices climb.
- Leave and logistics: Working candidates can apply for leave with a confirmed date and city in hand.
RRB JE City Slip 2026 Release Dates CBT 1 and CBT 2
CBT 1 city intimation slip
RRB activated the CBT 1 city intimation link on 10 February 2026 for CEN 05/2025. The exam schedule was also revised. Reports at the time showed the final dates settling on 19 February 20 February and 25 February 2026 with a 90-minute paper in three shifts each day.
The CBT 1 admit card followed on 16 February 2026. Some coverage had expected 15 February so always go by the official portal rather than by third-party predictions.

The CBT 2 city slip went live on 22 June 2026 with the admit card due on 28 June and the exam on 2 July 2026. That gap between slip and exam about ten days is the window to settle your travel plans.
How to Download the RRB JE City Intimation Slip
The process is the same for each stage and takes about two minutes.
- Open your regional RRB website. Use the RRB region you applied to. The link was activated on all regional RRB websites.
- Find the CEN 05/2025 section. Look for the link titled along the lines of Exam City and Date Intimation or City Intimation Slip.
- Click the link. The exact title varies slightly by stage and region.
- Log in. Candidates must enter their login credentials. Keep your registration number and date of birth ready.
- View and download. Your allotted city date and shift appear on screen. Save the PDF and take a printout.
Tip: If the site is slow avoid refreshing repeatedly. Try off peak hours such as early morning or late evening when regional portals face lighter traffic.

What Details Are Mentioned on the City Slip?
The slip is deliberately brief. It typically shows
- Candidate name registration number and roll number
- Exam city and state
- Exam date
- Shift timing and sometimes reporting and gate closing times
- Basic instructions for the next step
The slip identifies the city only. It is not an admit card. The exact centre address reporting time and photo based identification come with the admit card e-call letter.
City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card Know the Difference
| Feature | City Intimation Slip | Admit Card E-Call Letter |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Travel and planning | Entry to the exam hall |
| Released | Several days before the exam | About four days before the exam |
| Shows exact centre address | No | Yes |
| Shows reporting time | Sometimes | Yes |
| Allowed inside the exam hall | No | Yes, with valid ID |
| Photo and signature | Generally not | Yes |
You cannot enter the examination hall with the city slip alone. Treat it as a planning document and nothing more.

RRB JE Admit Card 2026: What Comes After the City Slip
The admit card is typically released four days before the exam. For CBT 2, that meant 28 June 2026 for the 2 July exam. The CBT 2 e-call letter was hosted on rrb.digialm.com.
On your admit card check these before anything else
- Your name photograph and signature
- Date of birth and category
- Exam date shift and reporting time
- The full address of the centre
If any detail is wrong, contact your RRB through the helpline or email listed on the official notice at once and carry the printed admit card with a valid photo ID on exam day.
Official Websites to Check
Candidates should rely only on official channels. The main ones are
- Your regional RRB website (the region you applied to), for the city slip, notices and results
- rrb.indianrailways.gov.in, where the CBT 2 result was also made available
- rrbapply.gov.in the portal pointed to for the CBT 1 city slip
- rrb.digialm.com which hosted the admit card login
If a website claims to sell guaranteed slips fast track access or paid updates ignore it. RRB never charges to display a city slip.

Common Problems and Quick Fixes
1. The link is not opening. Regional sites often slow down on release day. Wait an hour switch browsers or clear your cache.
2. Login details not working. Re-check your registration number and date of birth format. Use the forgot option if provided.
3. Slip shows a city you did not choose. RRB allots cities by availability so the city can differ from your preference. Raise a concern through the official grievance channel rather than assuming an error.
4. Details are incorrect. Report the issue to your RRB immediately and keep a screenshot of the error.
5. You lost your slip. Download it again with the same login. The slip is not a one-time document.
Smart Travel Planning After You Get Your Slip
Once your city is confirmed move quickly.
- Book transport first. Train berths to larger exam cities fill up first so book as soon as the date is known.
- Choose a stay near the centre zone. You will not know the exact centre until the admit card so pick a location with good road and rail connectivity to the whole city.
- Do a dry run. After the admit card arrives visit the centre or at least check the route on a map. Reaching on time matters since gate closing times are strict.
- Pack a document folder. Keep printed copies of the admit card and a government photo ID along with spare photographs if the notice asks for them.
- Revise lightly. Do not start new topics the night before. Use travel time to revise formulas short notes and previous papers.

Where the RRB JE Recruitment Stands Now
The picture has changed since the city slips were issued. RRB announced the CBT 2 result on 16 September 2026, and shortlisted candidates must now appear for Document Verification and a Medical Examination. The answer key had appeared earlier and the provisional answer key and response sheet were released on 10 July 2026.
If you cleared CBT 2, here is what to do next
- Check your roll number in the result PDF of your RRB zone.
- Watch for the DV schedule on the regional website. Notices are zone specific.
- Prepare original documents: educational certificates category certificate if applicable ID proof and photographs.
- Prepare for the medical examination. Medical standards depend on the post so read the notification carefully.
If you did not clear CBT 2, the next RRB cycle is your opportunity. Use your response sheet to identify weak sections and track new CEN announcements.
